Do you have a creative business idea? Then join our research study

Have you graduated from the University of Brighton or a similar creative undergraduate course from another university in Fashion Communication, Fashion Design or Textiles in the last 3 years and are looking to take your ideas into a digital or online business?

Do you have a business/creative concept that you would like to develop?

Then please get in touch with us to be part of a new research project exploring alternative ways to develop ideas for early career creatives.

We will then work with you to help develop your concept through; workshops, speakers, mentors and more. We want to co-create this with you.

The pitch

To be part of this research study you need to:

These can both be found at the following link:
Download form and information sheet here

Tell us:

  • Your idea
  • Why it is a good idea
  • How you want to take it further
  • How the opportunity will help you
  • Any existing research that you have undertaken

Your idea must fit into the UN sustainable development goals and you need to show us this in your application.

Your concept could be to develop a business, charity, co-operative, social endeavor or something else. It could be; digital, analogue, hybrid, metaversel, you decide.

You can apply as a group, pair or as an individual.

We will then help you to develop your idea through working with mentors and participating in workshops and talks. Such as prototyping, photoshoots, social media, business plans, understanding funding for business and how to create decks. We will work with you to co-create the sessions and to help develop your ideas.

We want to work with you to identify what is important and what you want to get out of the sessions.

You will need to give one day a week for 8 sessions plus anytime you spend developing your ideas in your own time – this could be around 1 – 1.5 days a week.

The sessions will take place on (all Tuesdays) May 24th, June 7th, June 14th, June 21st, June 28th, July 5th and July 12th in Lewes, East Sussex, you can also apply to take part exclusively online or as a hybrid of both online and in person.

As part of this we ask that you help us with our research study by developing ideas with feedback and reflections.

In return as a participant you will be part of a co-innovate group and will receive support to develop your concept towards becoming a business.
